Anne Hathaway is engaged!

Actor Stanley Tucci and Emily Blunt’s sister , Felicity, are engaged!Emily Blunt met Stanley Stucci on the set of “The Devil Wears Prada”.  

Shane Warne, a former Australian cricket player, has proposed to his girlfriend of 10 month, Elizabeth Hurley.

Warne popped the question in the middle of dinner at St. Andrews in Scotlandon the 30^th September.

Supermodel Molly Sims (38) and Hollywood film producer Scott Stuber (40) were wed on Saturday 24 September 2011.

Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphrey were wed on Saturday the 20 of August.  The colour theme was black and white.  The entire gaggle of the Kardashian family wore white, with Kim looking gorgeous with a 65ct.tw diamond head wrap and drop diamond earrings.

Heather Locklear and Jack Wagner are engaged.  Having been an onscreen couple in the 90’s hit TV show Melrose Place, they reunited in 2007 and started dating.

Six years after their first meeting during Vogue magazine's annual Costume Institute gala at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, David Lauren proposed to his girlfriend Lauren Bush in that same museum.

It is said that David proposed to Lauren inside the museum at around eight in the evening.  Afterwards the happy couple was spotted climbing into a horse drawn carriage. Lauren was wearing a solitaire diamond ring.

The royal couple of Monaco, Prince Albert II and Princess Charlene, exchanged 18-karat white gold wedding bands from Cartier at their religious wedding on Saturday.  This was done in front of royals and celebrities, along with the French President Nicolas Sarkozy, James Bond star Roger Moore, former supermodel Naomi Campbell, and veteran fashion designer Karl Lagerfeld.

Princess Charlene of Monaco opted not to wear a tiara on her wedding day, but decided to adorn something much more personal, choosing an asymmetrical creation in diamond and white gold that symbolizes the one-time South African Olympic swimmer’s love for the sea.

One of the major problems the jewellery shopper faces today is the threat of diamond scams.  It is a scary prospect, diamonds are a major investment and they are not cheap.  There are always people out there who are more than willing to dishonestly take your money. Here are some tips on how to avoid being scammed, whether you are buying diamonds or jewellery over the internet or over the counter.

On the 17th May Sotherby’s sold three pink diamond rings.  One marquise cut, sold for $146 500 (roughly R 1 million), one round brilliant cut sold for $1 986 500 (just under R14 million) and the other was an emerald cut, sold for $9 602 500 (a little under R66.5 million).  Although these prices are extreme, they show the popularity and demand of rare coloured diamonds. 

While pink diamonds have always been popular it was the engagement of Jennifer Lopez and Ben Afleck that set this interest in pink diamonds alight.  Lopez’s ring was a 6.1ct radiant cut pink diamond.  She gave the ring back to Afleck in 2004 after they broke up.  Even though the relationship did not last, our love of pink diamonds has.
